Terrible! We had an on going noise problem with pipes above our bedroom that meant we didnt sleep properly for 7 months. These were reported, a light check done and some minor works but nothing sorted it. We were left very much to ourselves with the problem. I dont think the actual landlord had any idea of the seriousness of the problem and Berkley way were almost shielding them from the problem so they could keep receiving money. There were several emails back and forth and we were told to record it ourselves and keep a log of exactly when the noise occured....3am usually. Eventually i reduced our rent by £400 in sheer frustration of not being taken seriously......that worked......then they threatened to take us to court.....and low and behold they managed to fix the problem 2 months before we moved out. We had a meeting with Alex, who said we should pay back the rent we owed which then amounted to around £1000, but then after hearing how intolerable the noise and their management was told us we could keep it. However.........................................after only being in the property 12 months, out of our £2000 deposit we received only £800...............im assuming this is where they made the rent back that i deducted! As a warning these are the costs that you could expect after leaving a one bed flat managed by them..... £1200 for painting (we only paid £300 in end), £600 for new floor to be put down (2 scratch on wooden floor that i suspect could have been sanded out), cleaning £220 (we had throughly cleaned before we left), new frying pan £20, out going inventory £75 and small scratch to glass tv unit £50. I would never recommend this agency ever! I had the WORST experience, causing me a lot of stress and anxiety! Not worth it.....TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT & NO PEOPLE SKILLS

11 Sept 2013I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your experience with Berkeley Way. We persistently strive to resolve tenants’ issues swiftly and efficiently, and it is unfortunate that in your case, there was a latent defect in the building, which meant developers, builders and block managers needed to be involved before the matter could be resolved. I am particularly sorry if at any point you felt that the issue was not being given our full attention, or, indeed, your landlords – we were all fully involved with trying to find a resolution, to the point where your landlord instructed a solicitor in order to speed up proceedings, at his own, personal cost. As you have noted, you were also given £1000 in compensation for the ongoing issue, which was agreed with yourselves at the time. With regards to the other element of your review, Berkeley Way employ professional third-party check-out clerks to carry out check ins and outs at our properties. This allows for full transparency when it comes to charging for dilapidations. We are also members of the MyDeposits scheme, which protects tenants’ deposits and provides recourse for any tenants who are unhappy with deductions. We would urge all tenants who are unhappy with deductions to use this scheme, as we strongly believe we only make deductions which are fair and in line with government and scheme guidelines. In conclusion, I can only apologise again if you feel that the service you received from Berkeley Way was unsatisfactory. We pride ourselves on behaving with integrity and professionalism at all times, and welcome all feedback from tenants and landlords alike. Thank you for taking time to offer feedback, it is always valuable. Alex.

The worst letting agency I have ever come across in london. Highly unprofessional in their lack of communication after we had moved out of the property. All emails to date have been in answered in queries as to when we shall be receiving our deposit back after moving out nearly 2 months ago. ... Read Full Review

Highly unprofessional and unfair letting agency for the tenants. Immediate responses/pro-activeness only if the rent is not in their account on the morning of the due date - but when trying to get ie. our deposit returned, it took 2.5 months with week long gaps between replies from the move out ... Worst real estate/ managing company in London. Sheena was the only good thing about them but she left and now Alex is making decisions that will ruin this company. Asked them to give my tenant notice- which Alex failed to do at the correct time- ended up not recovering last months rent and I have ... Read Full Review

Terrible is not a strong enough term for this agency. They are criminally negligent. I have had a mould issue in my flat for more than 6 months, they refuse to do anything about it. There was also a small outstanding electric bill for the flat when I moved in. I alerted them to this numerous ... Read Full Review

For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
