My review is based on fact and my personal experience of using this company whilst looking to purchase a residential property in Kendal, Cumbria. I started the process of purchasing a property in October. There was a known issue, however, that issue wasn't clearly communicated and was far worse than originally communicated, resulting in having to back out of the purchase, 10 weeks in, with no sign of an exchange. Its important to note, I had sold my house and was living in a motorhome, in the middle of winter. I spent weeks chasing for answers and made it clear my living situation was not sustainable, long term. I also stipulated I wanted an exchange date before the end of the year. It was Friday 22nd, I found out an exchange date wasn't possible, as the issue discussed at the start of the process, was delayed even further, but that hadn't been communicated to me by Hackney and Leigh, I found out, by insisting with speaking to the vendor, which Hackney and Leigh were reluctant to allow, I now know why. All in all, a very poor experience, which I hope never to go through again, which is why I will avoid using this company in the future.
