Worse than terrible Ashton Burkinshaw (owned by Countrywide) managed my property in Maidstone through their fully managed scheme, from the outset the tenant was unhappy with them, and I can understand why. The agent did a property inspection at the beginning of January 2020, and didnt carry out another inspection until November 2022, blaming covid and a lack of resources, the agent convienientky failed to send the 2022 inspection report to me for 163 days. I then found out that during the period 2020 to the check out in May 2023 that the property had significantly deteriorated, there were damages and significant unauthorized modifications, additionally the tenant reported an escape of water in 2021 but Ashton Burkinshaw did nothing to solve this problem for 9 months, you can imagine the mess when I finally got involved. Further when I attended the maidstone branch the senior branch manager informed me that if I was planning to make a claim for the deposit then the tenancy was to lean favourably towards the tenant and against the landlord.. I went through the Ashton Burkinshaw complaints proceedure but its internal so not impartial, and of course those doing the review are Countrywide employees so there is no chance of a fair outcome, your can try ARLA, Propertymark and the Ombudsman but dont expect a fair and balanced outcome. Ashtom Burkinshaw Maidstone are from my experience un-cooperative, unresponsive, unprofessional, expensive and the branch environment is toxic, discriminatory and unfriendly. There are other agents in that part of Kent who will definitely offer you a better more professional and cheaper service that Ashton Burkinshaw .
