Avoid at all costs! I am a former letting agent so I feel my review has some standing. To start with Leaders seemed on the ball, friendly and efficient. Then they closed the Redditch branch and combined it with the Bromsgrove branch. It went downhill, incredibly fast. We reported numerous leaks, simple damage to the property like broken hob etc and hardly heard anything back repairs would take weeks to resolve, you would have to email dozens of times to get an answer and follow everything up with a phone call to ensure they actioned any maintenance. Our boiler flue was blocked up with piles of foliage and bushes, this would of leaked carbon monoxide into the property over time and they still did nothing to resolve it, or even acknowledge our report. We were unfortunately tenants of theirs for over two years, looked after our property like it was our own, invested time and effort into improving it in a neutral manner, always paid our rent on time with no other issues and yet upon leaving the property they tried to force us to part with almost £200 for ‘cleanliness’ and refused to even elaborate on what that meant, give any further details, provide quotes or do literally anything that a letting agent would be expected to do at a check out. The offer was to pay £200 or go to arbitration. No further explanation, details, evidence. Nothing. In the end we agreed to part with half the amount to just have to not deal with them anymore, they accepted half the amount which says it all really. Hopefully they can put the £98 to good use as they clearly need it. On a personal level the two staff members we dealt with, Sally and Sarah, both were incredibly unresponsive to any reports or emails. The latter was incredibly ignorant when it came to dealing with our check out. We are now with Hunters who are well known for being a superior agent (they have just replaced a broken oven within 24 hours!) and they have been amazing so far! Please, save yourself any hassle as a landlord or tenant and avoid Leaders, especially the Bromsgrove branch.
