Platinum Properties, will do anything and everything to drain money out of you. Extremely unreliable, very slow to repair anything that goes wrong. When we left the property, one of the fences was about to collapse in the neighbours back yard because they could not be asked to fix a post in more than 3 months. They don't allow you at the final inventory, and afterwards they come out with ridiculous things that are wrong with the property, like a dirty kitchen cupboard that we could never open as the door was blocked by dishwasher. Avoid at all cost

3 Jul 2020Thank you for your feedback, although I am disappointed that you did not contact me directly to raise your issues and seek resolution, I feel it is important that we respond. All repairs are subject to the landlords consent, as it is funds from their pocket that are being spent, not our own, except in exceptional circumstances where the repair is of an urgent nature. We do outline this in all documentation provided at the commencement of the tenancy to ensure this is understood. With regard to the final inspection process, we provide documentation across 4 pages to explain this process. We also provide a cleaning schedule and video and complete details of how the process is handled when your final inspection is booked. After completing the end of tenancy process you are sent a full photographic report (as is your landlord) and you are encouraged to contact us with any comments in relation to the findings photographed within so that your comments can be forwarded to the landlord for consideration. If it is not possible for us to negotiate a common position between the parties the TDS offer a free arbitration service that allows both parties to submit evidence to ensure a fair and just outcome for all. We hope this helps in understanding this process and the role of us as agents in greater detail.

7 Jul 2020Hello Maria, Thank you for finding the time to reply after more than 11 months. I have went through the process you described, with Sophie, and got nowhere. I even went to Citizens Advice Bureau for advice. Unfortunately I wasn't able to leave around 2000£ in a TDS account and go forward with my case against you as I needed the money. I still encourage anyone who thinks of renting from you to think twice as all you are after is honest people money. Regards

I am sorry to hear that Citizens Advice don't seem to have advised you that, in disputing a proposed charge, you would actually receive the balance of your deposit not in dispute immediately and only the monies in dispute would have been held, this is also outlined in the deposit protection information provided at the commencement of the tenancy. Thankfully the reviews provided by other tenants through the ESTAS that result in us winning awards show a different opinion. To this end we wish you well for the future.

I don't think they have terrible intentions but as a small agency you can definitely tell they value their landlords more than their tenants. If you value your deposit, then do not use this company - they are supposed to work equally for the Landlord and the tenant but this isn't the case. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
