We were, to begin with, with Kinghams at our property and they were fantastic, unfortunately kinghams shut down and we have been passed from pillar to post and eventually we have ended up with CountryWide. Since the moment they took over we have had nothing but greif. Our renewal fees were £30 to begin with then they decided they should be £125 - i told them to sod off so they instead put the rent up. Again i told them to go away and they kept it at the same rate as usual. On top of this (we have been at the property for over 3 years) we still have 3 monthly inspections which drive me mad - and i have to, every time, tell them that they are not to go in to my property without me being there as they say in the letters that if we arent there they'll just let themselves in!!!!!!! Every time they come to do an inspection they have been given a list of things that need fixing - over a year is the average time it takes for them to pull their fingers out of their arses and do something! And still there is guttering hanging off - the shed felt was torn we told them about it - 1 year later we did the work ourselves because we were sick of waiting and watching our landlords property get ruined. The final straw for me today is that we have had our new tenancy agreement come through and they have changed nearly everything without notifying us, they know we have pets - they see them every 3 months! But still they have put a pet clause in this time, also they have very carefully worded a sentance that says that we are eligable to pay any fee's they want us to!!!!! I have refused to sign the contract and requested that we go onto a rolling contract using our last tenancy agreement, to which they have said something along the lines of "your landlord must agree this and they wont be happy". Who the (GRRRRRRRR) do they think they are? Moving house i think! PLease anyone who is reading this DO NOT GO THROUGH COUNTRYWIDE - THEY WILL ROB YOU BLIND!

Extremely bad experience I had with this company. People don't make my mistake avoid this company and their shady business. Countrywide take 350£ feed from me that they shouldn't. They give me wrong type of contract to avoid protecting my deposit. I can't wait to... Read Full Review

Well what can I say about the total incompetence of this agency and its staff. Not only do they never respond to emails or enquiries, they also try to pass the buck to anyone else. I would not recommend using this Letting Agency to anyone who wanted to receive a professional full management... Read Full Review

I'm absolutely disgusted with these people. The fees are extortionate, the customer service non-existent, the staff are rude and don't give a damn, I could go on. They have overcharged me on rent and two and a half weeks later and after many promises of refunds I still have seen nothing. They... Read Full Review

As a tenant, and a customer the service I received was the worst I have ever had from any company. Basic repairs were not carried out for months, such that we could not even lock the doors or flush one of the toilets; the direct debit instruction was sent twice and came out of my bank account... [[EDIT ORIGINAL START]] I rented a flat in Bournemouth with Countrywide and this was a huge mistake. I had a leak that took forever to get fixed, a large roof fire caused by a contractor hired by Countrywide (to fix the leak). I went into Countrywide to speak with someone about the leak, the fire...
