The way they operate is to say they'll do something and as soon as you're off the phone or the email chain is concluded, they just completely forget you exist. They're totally neglectful. They lie and try to say that the people who manage the flat are in the London office - which is in the same block as my flat, so I know who works there. Actually, the lady who manages my flat is in Cape Town!! For real. This is the big secret of New Space that they don't want anyone to know. There's a lot of building work going on next door (it's a bloody racket). I wrote an email to Kim complaining about it. Kim writes back and says 'yes I know, we're all suffering the noise' !!! She's trying to pretend like she's in the London office!! Presumably, because they don't want people to know they hire cheaper workers in Africa! This kind of calculated lying perfectly sums up the experience of living in a flat managed by New Space. Only move into a flat managed by New Space if you like being ignored and generally treated with zero respect or consideration. For the last 12 or 13 months, I've been living in a flat managed by these guys. When we first moved in they lied so many times to us about things they would sort out that we eventually had to get a lawyer involved, just to get them to listen to us. The list of issues with the flat was long. Highlights included big holes in the wall (bigger than fist size), no hot water, no real address on BT's database, so we couldn't get internet, no hot water, and broken electrics so only about 20% of the lights turned on. They systematically ignored us for weeks, until I was forced to get a lawyer. They still haven't properly fixed the hot water (there is enough for a quick shower, but nowhere near enough to fill the bath), and we've been here over a year. I can not even tell you how many emails I've written about it. They clearly don't give a damn. I can't wait till our contract ends so we can get out of here. Which is a shame, because they flat itself is nice (when things work). Our rent, by the way, is £2,100 per month, before bills, for a 2 bed. As I say, objectively speaking it's a nice flat. But we're paying an astronomical amount of rent and getting such utterly terrible service.
