This company is no good for anyone under 26. As im 22 they asked for a guarentoo who owns their own house. they said this is because im under 25 which would have worked great because my partner is over 25, then she said he has to be employed.. so i said yes hes a managing director and then she said that we would still need a guarontoo ... Our wages exceed £4500 a month they must be having a laugh! So we have decided not to go with them Please note whilst they are asking for a guarentoo we both can provide references, bank statements, deposits and a clear credit rating... MAD

6 Aug 2012Thank you for your review. No tenant has taken legal action against the company for not returning the tenants deposit. Under the Housing Act 2004 The Company is not responsible for paying the deposits back to the tenants so your review of The Home Rental Company is misleading and is not correct. All tenants’ deposits are required to be registered with one of the Government schemes. The Home Rental Company a member of the Deposit protection scheme (DPS) ALL deposits are paid to DPS. When a tenancy comes to an end the two parties i.e. you and the landlord are the two parties that have to agree any deductions from your deposit, therefore you must have agreed with DPS to release the deposit to your landlord. If you feel that DPS has made a mistake then your need to seek re addresses against DPS or your landlord though the courts. But you have to work within DPS time fame to claim back your deposit, if you do not the deposit could be paid to your landlord by DPS. You say that a member of staff was very rude, if you can let me know who you were talking to then I can take this up with the member of staff concerned., we are here point tenants and landlords in the right direction when making a claim on a deposit, therefore sometimes when tenants do not understand how the scheme works tenants do get upset, but the staff are here to help and we will end a call if the caller is rude or becomes aggrieve or offensive. The company does not hold the deposit money or allocated the deposit to the landlord, all the information of the DPS scheme is given to the tenant at the front of your tenancy with all the web site details and telephones numbers of DPS for your reference. For the future I would advise you to respond when claiming your deposit as you have a set time to submit any evident to DPS.

Avoid this company at all cost! Another prime example of trying to make a quick buck out of honest, hard working people. Middle men taking their slice with no grounds. After leaving the rental property we had with the home rental company, leaving the property in a much more presentable state than... Read Full Review
Nothing. One bad experience is enough, I\'m not stupid enough to deal with them again.

Not impressed with this agency at all. Began renting with them in 2011 and unfortunately ex ran off leaving me with 2 kids (I'm the Father by the way). She cancelled the lease agreement and didnt pay the rent she had claimed for. The HRC demanded the money even though I was without funds, as ex... Read Full Review
There is nothing this agency could do now to make me change my view of them. They have lost me a house which my children loved and put us in a precarious position of being made homeless. Steer clear of this agency if you value your safety..

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
