Since bridgefords joined countrywide, the service became awful, Fees increased, charge tenant and landlords both for admin fees. Do not attend check in and check outs and tell lies about rents, tenants, repairs. Bridgefords Gateshead stall are all incompetent and particularly their branch manager, he is useless and. Untrustworthy. We never had such dreadful service. We are renting our property out and paying them a riduculous amount of money for doing nothing. They NEVER reply to emails and when they send something they are rude and dismissive. rip off staff and fraudsters. Non-existent customer service

28 Jun 2012Very true. Had the same problem, although we are tenants. Totally digraceful company, and their staff certainly need retraining in customer services.

8 Aug 2012I agree. I was a landlord and they took money from me to paint the exterior woodwork. When I returned to move back into the property 2 yrs later the painting was never done. I had to demand the money back and refused to leave their office until they paid. They even called an electrician to show the tenant how to set the heating when all the instructions were left there. To add insult to injury they charged ME for the call out fee!

3 Oct 2015I do wonder if their CEO ever reads these complaints and, if so, why he is still in the job? We have just won a case brought to the Property Ombudsman where Countrywide Letting, lied about the references and we finished up with 'Tenants from Hell'. They failed to carry out their own complaints procedure and lied about the final inspection.

An appauling agent to deal with. Jennifer who used to work for this company did several inspections whilst renting from them for 3 years - don't think she was EVER polite when she came out and was quite happy in making you feel small (which seems the Countrywide Lettings way to be honest!). Have not to date had any response to my emails, the property was left with the carpets ruined from too much water and the smell of cats is awful they were supposed to have had it proffessionally cleaned, and charged us for this on the final account still not able to gat the name of the cleaning... i did rent a flat for 2 years in albany washintong for 2 years, i moved out on 24th november 2011, they did say the flat need repairs, my deposis was for £ 500 they did say will contact me to give the rest of deposit back, today is 12th jaunuary 2012 they didint contact me when i phoned they put... As long as a person as to do 'something' they charge a MINIMUM of £25. Everything from a bit of dust to return of money accidentally paid to them. Even the landlord is charged for duplicate tenancy documents at the start of a new tenancy, when all it cost is probably about £25 for a few button... Read Full Review
