An appauling agent to deal with. Jennifer who used to work for this company did several inspections whilst renting from them for 3 years - don't think she was EVER polite when she came out and was quite happy in making you feel small (which seems the Countrywide Lettings way to be honest!). Moved out cos we had a leaking radiator which they did nothing about for a year, not to mention exploding light bulbs and faulty electrics (oven heater element blew up, extractor fan bulb also exploded, amongst other incidents) and not once did they bother to fix these. The cream of the crop however was the broken boiler which we were left to suffer in mid-winter for 2 whole weeks. After around 5 or 6 phone calls, they informed me that they hadn't even been in touch with the landlord to obtain permission for the repairs!! They were so bad I vacated the flat a month early. Now after moving out they still have not returned my deposit, but sent a letter and statement almost 2 months after moving out to issue a 60 pound admin fee and a 250 pound cleaning charge!! Disgusting agents, don't bother renting with these people unless you like being ripped off

Over the winter we are very busy with callers and the maintenance team typically has a long list ...

Have not to date had any response to my emails, the property was left with the carpets ruined from too much water and the smell of cats is awful
they were supposed to have had it proffessionally cleaned, and charged us for this on the final account

Have not to date had any response to my emails, the property was left with the carpets ruined from too much water and the smell of cats is awful they were supposed to have had it proffessionally cleaned, and charged us for this on the final account still not able to gat the name of the cleaning company, now having to replace carpets in order to sell the property as we live in the south east it was not easy to get to the property often whch is why we thought t would be best to have an agent I would not give them more than one star

Since bridgefords joined countrywide, the service became awful, Fees increased, charge tenant and landlords both for admin fees. Do not attend check in and check outs and tell lies about rents, tenants, repairs.

Untrustworthy. We never had such dreadful service. We are renting our property out and paying them a riduculous amount of money for doing nothing. They NEVER reply to emails and when they send something they are rude and dismissive. rip off staff and fraudsters. Non-existent customer service

As long as a person as to do 'something' they charge a MINIMUM of £25. Everything from a bit of dust to return of money accidentally paid to them. Even the landlord is charged for duplicate tenancy documents at the start of a new tenancy, when all it cost is probably about £25 for a few button... Read Full Review

As long as a person as to do 'something' they charge a MINIMUM of £25. Everything from a bit of dust to return of money accidentally paid to them. Even the landlord is charged for duplicate tenancy documents at the start of a new tenancy, when all it cost is probably about £25 for a few button presses, paper and electricity. A total of £250 to renew the agreement. As an ex-landlord I was hellishly surprised that it would cost this much and surprised that the landlord was charged as well. As a money making machine it works, as value and service to the customer it's very POOR value for money.
