This is not a trustworthy company, We have been looking to buy a house in the region of 650,000. We were shown a property by chancellors in Surrey and were told that the house was under offer but they would sell it to us depending on our offer ( we obviously didn't like this approach and removed the house from our list in consideration for those trying to buy it, whether this was true or not). We then put an offer on a house that was being advertised by chancellors and a second agent (we obviously went with the second agent, as we don't trust chancellors). Our offer was accepted and the sellers have explicitly requested for the house to be taken off the market as we agreed. Against the sellers will, Chancellors kept advertising the house, proving to be the most dishonest agent we have met so far, without the slightest consideration for their clients. We do not recommend them at all and would encourage all trying to sell a property to go with a different agent, any other but Chancellors. We have visited more then 20 houses with more then 5 agents and we have sold a property in the past. This is the only agent we met with the policy of keep advertising houses until exchange. The legality of cannot be questioned, but when all other agents are operating in different terms, it is clear Chancellors cannot be trusted.

11 Apr 2018Antony Roberts Kew did the same few years ago with us! After complain they refunded us with the security deposit we had paid to take the property off the market. Chancellers Richmond we believe was acting with discrimination towards us recently.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
