Hi to all that seem to have a problem with Berkshire Property the rip off merchants Any up to date news on legal action, the goverment, the news papers ?? I believe they have done that old trick,,,, dissolve,, change the name wipe off debts........... why and how is this still legal in this country ?? Would like to hear from others

There's a lot of unhappy people on this blog and I can relate to all of it, owes months and months rent and kept the tenants deposit and supposedly left the country to go to Spain. I used this letting agency in 1998/9 where I rented 2 properties with them. At this time the service was fantastic, the manager, can't remember his name but a short chap with red hair was excellent, very friendly and helpful. They are terrible. They took my deposit and they are not refunding it. Every time when I call them they said email to Shane and I did more then 100 emails .But I haven't got any response from him. I have lost my deposit money with them. Went to small claims court, got warrant issued. No reply from the court of Baillif. On calling the Baillif (Dev Garg), he gives a hundred and one excuses. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
