I dealt with the Harrogate branch of Hunters while house hunting a few months ago and found them to be very pushy. I rang to arrange a viewing on a house and whilst on the call was asked if I wanted to arrange an appointment with their mortgage broker - I declined as we already had already met our financial advisor to discuss mortgages. I did agree to a conveyancing quote based on the property we were going to look at, just to compare prices with other firms. They also booked me in for an open house viewing at another property whilst I was on the phone and I had to tell them I didn't want this, they cancelled it after I told them no a few times - I was only ringing up to make an appointment to view a property remember. Later on I got a call from their mortgage broker despite me telling the agent I spoke to before that I wasn't interested - terrible service. The viewing appointment I had made was cancelled in the end as the property sold before the date. We then went on and bought a property via another agent and thought that was it. However, weeks and weeks after my first interaction with Hunters I got a voicemail from their conveyancing people saying had I seen their quote - checking my email they had sent it to me again, based on the figures of the house we never got to see and that had sold to someone else! Based on my experiences with them I cannot recommend them and I can honestly say it put me off even viewing a house marketed by them. A friend who sold their flat just before we were looking to move had an agent round from the same branch for a valuation and said he was there over 2 hours and couldn't get rid of him! I would avoid them if I ever needed an estate agent again in the future.
