Summary: Rude, unresponsive, poor customer service, unreliable. This review is written from the perspective of a customer looking to rent a property through Robert Ellis. In summary I would recommend potential customers of Robert Ellis to stay away, especially from their lettings office. Several weeks ago my partner and I found a potential property on RightMove (property letting site), so we called Robert Ellis to book a viewing. We also called several times during the week leading up to the viewing, this was in order to validate that the viewing was still confirmed and there were no issues. Due to currently living in cornwall, we had to make the trip up to Long Eaton, this involved several hours travel. However after viewing the property and attempting to make an offer to secure it, we were told we would be unable to do so as we lived too far away for a visit to our existing property to take place. Due to this fact we asked for a refund on our travel costs, as they could have cancelled this viewing on several occasions and saved our time and money. Currently, after over a month of exchanging emails with their “Lettings Manager†Tim Davis, I have still not been able to obtain a full refund. He is now rudely ignoring my emails, thus proving their poor approach to customers and potential customers.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
