Poor overall service. Had to cancel initial mortgage advisor meeting - no initial apology. Vendors went onto pull out. Was not informed of this until Friday 5pm, some time after the vendors had made that decision. Staff stated they tried to contact us when cannot find any record on my phone of them having done this

22 Jan 2015Dear M3a07, We're sorry to hear that you were not happy with the service you received from our Bolton branch. On further investigation I can confirm that your initial mortgage appointment was delayed due to a prior appointment running over. We realise this can be very frustrating and offer an appointment at an alternative date. We try hard to ensure that appointments run on time but occasionally due to factors beyond our control this is not possible. With regards to the vendors withdrawal from proceedings, we do realise how disappointing this can be for our customers. As soon as our Bolton staff were informed that the sale could no longer proceed they attempted to contact you and were successful within 2-3 days. Every sale is important to us and we take customer satisfaction very seriously. If you would like to discuss this matter further please get back in touch with our Barrow branch on 01204 399388 and they will be pleased to assist you.

I have looked into this and I am sorry that your mortgage appointment was delayed due to a prior appointment running over. I agree this is frustrating. At Farrell Heyworth we try hard to ensure that appointments run on time but sometimes due to factors beyond our control this is not possible. This was one of those times and I apologise. With regards to the property vendor’s sale-withdrawal, we do realise how disappointing this can be for our customers. Disgusting company. Rented our first house with these clowns and had rubbish service throughout. They wouldn't come round to sort out things that were broken and we had to live in a house invested with damp which attracted all sorts of critters which was wasn't nice. Genuinely poor - i was also notified the first month half price rent wouldn't be till the end of my agreement - there competitor did this at the start of the lease.

Simply atrocious. Never responded to calls. Never acted on information given. Simply seemed like they didn't care. Had a bad leak within months of moving to the property. Turning up every now and then would have been a good start. Or returning a phone call. Being frank, Farrell Heyworth were NOT a letting agency. They took a cut of the landlords rent for the sake of making sure rent was in on time. This included me having to ring the landlord while she was in hospital, giving birth because of a flood of water pouring in from a lift shaft that Farrell Heyworth never acknowledged. Genuinely disgusted and glad to be moving out soon.
Usual garbage fees for checks which we had thorough proof of anyway. To be honest no different from other estate agents, though did overcharge.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
