I called John D Wood saying i would like to see a specific property in Surrey that was listed on their website. The agent said that would not be possible as they were very busy and could only show me two other (more expensive) properties which they were 'launching' nearby. I said happy to see those two as well, but would really like to see the first one, as i would be driving all the way from Central London to Surrey to view properties. They insisted that's not possible and that the property is not worth visiting as it has a small garden hence why it has not sold for quite some time. I went to see the two recommended properties, which i didnt like. I then drove to the other property myself, it was a very small street and i asked a neighbour who kindly pointed the one for sale. I knocked on the door and the owner was there. He was in fact expecting John D Wood to turn up shortly with a couple that was coming for a "second viewing". The owner was surprised that the agent didn't want to show me the property. He said the least they could do, if they were that busy, was to contact him and see if he could show me around the house himself, which he did. The house was actually much nicer than the other two and its garden was no smaller than the other two properties. The owner was genuinely upset and said he would disinstruct John D Wood. As i was leaving, a couple arrived with the agent that had shown me one of the other two properties... I leave you to draw your own conclusions.

12 Feb 2012John D. Wood did something similar in my property in Wimbledon. The perspective tenant had to push to be show my property. When time came to renew the lease little was done and we had to negociate with the tenants ourselves but the FULL commision was requested by J. D. Wood.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
