I dealt with Mac & Moy regarding their cleaning service. Michelle contacted me in response to an ad I had put online looking for a regular house cleaner offering their services. I was asked to pay £35 deposit, before a "cleaner could be released" apparently. I paid this by direct bank transfer in August. For many weeks following she did not have a cleaner available (I thought paying the deposit meant I was allocated a cleaner!). Eventually she gave me a date that some one would attend - they didn't show up! After many more weeks of stringing me along saying she would arrange someone for the following week I gave up and asked for a refund of the deposit I had paid - to which she agreed. A few weeks later I still had not received anything so contacted again. Eventually I got a text message reply saying a cheque would be posted to my home address. Another few weeks have passed and I am still waiting on the cheque! She doesn't answer phone calls or reply to text messages. I can't believe this business exists!! On reading other reviews I am not the first person (thankfully mine was only £35 - but not nice none the less).
Provide an efficient service. Do not take deposits if you can not provide a service. Given that, if they had have refunded the deposit I had paid when I asked I would have though nothing more of the inefficiency. They are obviously just dishonest.

19 Nov 2014Hello Aileen We have added your comment to report abuse As you are aware I informed you via email that a cheque was to be posted to you under my instruction as I was currently in and out of hospital after giving birth and also I stress on maternity. I.e not actively working hence why I did not take calls. There is no scam and no other persons have been scammed if you carefully read the reply to the other comment regarding my property business. I have since discovered a cheque was indeed posted but not cashed and unfortunately I do not control the postage service and do apologise for that instance if you have been left out of pocket for that period. Hopefully by now you will have received your refund as this is kept in a client account and we do not access client monies.

19 Nov 2014Aileen has also received services from us prior and should regognise that this was clearly a glitch due to myself being on maternity ect as there were no issues with the prior services Hence Aileen looking to use our services....again

1 Dec 2014To date no cheque has been received as refund (as you have mentioned above)..is this another Royal Mail glitch? And you still have been unable to answer any attempt of communication to discuss this.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
