We decided to sell our house with Curchods in August 2014. The house went on the market at the end of July and was sold within 3 weeks whilst we were on holiday. Unfortunately, the transaction did not go smoothly due to a combination of things going wrong further down the chain, a house that we were going to purchase falling through and us having highly sensitive buyers. Also, because the house sold so quickly, there was a point during the transaction where we did not have anywhere to live. So there were a lot of ups and downs and very tricky conversations. I felt that Kate managed the situation really well. She tried hard to keep the lines of communication open and was at all times professional. I was impressed by her skill at making sure the sale went through when, at the end, it did look as though everything would go sideways. Estate agents are in a very difficult position because inevitably, they have to side with the buyer of the property even though it is the seller who pays them. At times, I must admit I found this hard because with the many problems that arose, I wanted Kate to support me rather than the buyers. In hindsight though, I see that this was the right move despite it seeming wrong at the time.
Fees are always more than you want to pay and too expensive. However, Curchods earned their keep with this transaction.

Fees are always more than you want to pay and too expensive. However, Curchods earned their keep with this transaction.
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
