The fees were high (although not extraordinarily so). The main complaint was the unusually large amount of money we were asked to pay to secure the property. Rather than just a holding deposit, we were immediately asked to pay an amount nearly equal to our five week security deposit. The breakdown of our initial payments was also slightly confusing.

Given that the sale was straightforward and we were offering the property at a realistic price, the fee was quite high I consider for the amount of work actually incurred by the agent, but then we chose not to bargain down the fee offer and wanted to incentivise the agent so we have no complaint.
