Warning - Terrible Experience with WHBrown Letting Agent
I am writing this review to share my utterly disappointing experience with WHBrown Letting Agent. My encounter with them has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to warn others to avoid this agency at all costs.
To start, the level of incompetence displayed by WHBrown is astounding. Their complete disregard for the well-being of their tenants is shocking. My attempts to address maintenance issues were met with negligence, as my complaints about moulded bathrooms, paint falling off walls, and faulty electrical work were conveniently ignored.
Moreover, the racial insensitivity exhibited by WHBrown is deeply troubling. The lack of respect and condescending behavior from their staff members is not only unprofessional but also unacceptable. It is disheartening to experience such blatant disregard for human decency, making it clear that they prioritize profit over people.
The final straw was when they left me and my children in a cold, uninhabitable house for a week. Despite consistently paying rent with no arrears, we have been treated with disrespect and utter disregard for our well-being.
I implore anyone considering WHBrown Letting Agent for their property needs to steer clear. The level of service provided is abysmal, and their practices are not only unprofessional but also border on neglectful. My experience has been a stark reminder that tenants deserve better treatment and respect.
Avoid WHBrown Letting Agent like the plague, and spare yourself the stress and anguish of dealing with such an unscrupulous agency.
I have encountered them on two occasions at two different location and they are absolutely rubbish.

I have been let down by William H Brown TWICE IN less than 24 hours!I have been waiting for their mortgage advisor's call this morning at 10.30am as scheduled, but nobody called me.Yesterday I was waiting for their lettings agent to value my property, but nobody showed up! Had both appointments confirmed in writing.I am appalled by this agency's services and the disrespect shown towards the client's time! I am a busy woman and had to move a few appointments to fit their agents. TIME WASTERS! SHAME ON YOU!

They tried at first charging a very high fee, I questioned this and threatened to go elsewhere so they knocked, I thin about £300 of the price

While they were really friendly, my experience was not pleasant and I believe has cost me money.
It started off with their representative calling to the house. She was was very good with her sales tactics. She told me I would get £70k for the house and I laughed, "was you expecting more" was her reply. "No" said I, "the property is only worth £60k". "Oh no" she replied "we sold a house only across the way from here for £70k and it was not as nice as yours, (she then got the paperwork out to show me) I honestly believe we can get this figure". All in all her patter was very good and I took her at her word knowing I could reduce the figure to mine later.
The problem came two months later when I contacted them to let them know they had got it wrong, we had no real interest in the property because it was over priced. I asked them if they could put in on the market for offers around £60k. They informed me this was not their way of doing business, they have guide prices and they feel this is the best way of selling. I asked them to put it on the market then for £60k-£65k. Could we just say that you do not want to keep dropping the price of the property, it does not look good. We would recommend lowering it to £55k-£60k, this way you would get more foot fall and then we have found you get far more offers and should achieve the higher figure anyway. The argument sounded solid enough to me. The trouble is on the sites it shows up as guide price £55k, this meant that all the offers coming in for the property were well below this figure except the first offer. This does not surprise me really as I would do the same. I think W.H. Brown have done me no favours, the approach they use may work some times but in my case I cannot help but think not only have they not sold my property but I am continuing to pay all the bills associated with the property. They have cost me money and time in my opinion and I will never use them again.

What agent could do to change your mind?
I complained after multiple problems and my complaint was not listened to so I'm going to the financial ombudsman. Useless.

Awful. Appeared nice, friendly and professional until things started going wrong and didn't want to know or made it clear it wasn't their fault (when it was). Solicitors held up for weeks because they gave the sellers solicitor the wrong details. 2 weeks from exchanging on a house we went to measure up and another viewing had been made at the same time without us knowing. No apology was given and it was the manager who was doing the viewing (he also arrived 15 minutes late). I was pressured into using their mortgage adviser and have had nothing but problems, after paying £600 for it. Avoid if you can.
