*My husband and I met **4 years ago. He showed me a property to rent, I accepted, paid fees and deposit then the excuses started. The move in date was delayed numerous times until my Father in Law drove past and someone else was moving in. When I confronted **he said he knew nothing about it and the landlord must've arranged tenants. As he already had my money, I told him to find me something ASAP. He showed me another, which eventually didn't turn out. Then moved us into a property in Leighton Buzzard. We were there 2 years and had nothing but stress. ** was obviously telling me and the landlord conflicting stories to the point the landlord ended things with **. When we moved we found out ** hadn't secured our deposit, surprise surprise. He knew what we had been through (loss of our baby) and still continued his bare face lies. STAY AWAY - it really isn't worth it

Found the property in July 2015. Was told by Ian Bowden that to remove the property from the market we would need to pay the 6 weeks deposit plus £120 for the credit checks, which we did by bank transfer. My daughter had to leave the rented property she was in on 30th September and Ian Bowden was confident the flat we had paid the deposit on would be ready by then. Long story short Ian Bowden kept putting the date back that my daughter could move in and the final straw came last week when I started to research him on the Internet. What a dodgy man. When I asked for the full monies back he tried to tell me he didn't have it. After a 3 hour stand off in the office last Wednesday he finally transferred £600 into my bank account. I returned the next day and this time it only took 90 minutes and he then gave me a further £592.50 assuring me the remaining £336 would be in my account by Monday just gone. Well guess what? No more money has appeared so I will be paying him another visit and again I will not leave without the last of my money.
Ian Biwden is a * man who appears to pray on people who are incredibly vulnerable when they are looking for accommodation, but this time he picked on the wrong family!

We found the property on a website, OnTheMarket.com, in July 2015. We viewed the property and was told by Ian Bowden that in order for him to remove property from the market, we would need to pay a deposit and reference fees. He took a few months to gain the references and we finally had an agreed date to move in on the 1st October 2015. Movers were booked, we were packed and all changes made when moving house. He called us the Friday before moving to tell us that the current tenants will not be moving until the day after our move date! We panicked and decided to try to call the owner of the property directly. The owner told us that he knew nothing about us and that he was not renting the property. We now knew we were in trouble and homeless. We have since got most of the money back by being very persistent, calling, emailing, visiting, etc. We have now reported Mr Ian Bowden and his company Mckenzie Bowden or Acorn Property for Fraud. He should not be allowed to treat people this way and should not be working in this or any other industry. He's a very dishonest man.
