I can't begin to describe the horrific experience we had with Martyn Gerrard Whetstone.
For the best part of 6 months this agency lied to us about the conditions of the property, Higbey Lodge. We are thankful we did not end up being conned into purchasing this property and have since completed on a stunning property with agents that were honest, helpful, and not at all misleading.
Despite our concerns being escalated, staff at all levels were a nightmare to deal with; agents, branch managers, and directors. Nobody returned calls or emails, and I was even shouted at by one member of staff - totally unprofessional.
Avoid using this agent at all costs. The lies and outrageous service of this agency is really what gives estate agents a bad name!

Andrew was the first estate agent that wasn't too pushy or trying to do a hard sell. He was very friendly and has a nice calm manner. He was always on hand if you needed to ask a question and always prompt in responding either by phone or email. Super patient too. Andrew was great at answering all our questions as first time landlords and helped us find our fist tenants. We are really impressed so far and fingers crossed for the future.

I phone Martyn Gerrard - Whetstone on 23/3/15 to enquire about a property that was being marketed for rental and added on few days ago on the right move website. The phone was answered by a gentleman who said to me he was in the sales department and his colleague in the rental department was on the phone. He took my contact telephone number and name and promise to get his colleague to phone me. The next day I waited for the call and no call received. I gave a second call and this time a lady took the call and after making a complaint to her about my call not being returned, she said her colleagues was on the phone and took down my number and name again and promised to get her colleague to phone me back. No call received again so I just went on their website and send an email to the Management Office of Martyn Gerrard . Within an hour then I got a call. I will not advise to use this agency if you are a landlord and/or a tenant as if they cannot even return a call, do remember what will happen when you have a major issue. Their lettings director did send me an email and did apologise but what he got to bear in mind his agency lost a very good customer for not just returning a call but lots of referrals which I will have put through. I had sold a previous property in Finchley and I have no regrets at all for not using them though this agency did drop a leaflet about their agency and boasting their service. I am buying more properties in the future and there is no way I am going to use that agency since you have to contact their head office to get a call back finally from them. Landlords/Tenants Beware.

We interviewed 3 agents. Winkworths and MG came up with the same valuation, but MG had sold two flats in the block recently. Bairstow Eves quoted £20k more and wanted £300 marketing fee up front. There is one thing that my wife and I found extremely irritating, though this applies to all estate agents we met and not just to Martyn Gerrard: We think agents should provide basic information about properties, most importantly the price per square metre (or foot, no matter which). This is the most important indicator that allows you to compare properties and generally the quality of locations. It should be shown directly on Martyn Gerrard's Website, on rightmove, zoopla etc. and in branch office windows. The fact that here in the UK it is difficult to get this information makes the market extremely intransparent.

Very professional agency offering properties advertised exclusively through them (sole agents) and this made all the difference in our purchasing experience (i.e. we avoided unnecessary stress caused by other agents'/buyers' interference). Agents willing to help us in any way possible during the conveyance process - multiple viewings, various surveyors allowed to see the property when required, clear guidance on the process, quick in completing/passing on property keys etc. Recommend without any hesitation.
