I get a phone call weeks before move in date, saying we can no longer have the property. The current tenants want to stay and now we can't move in. Even though contracts were signed, leaders said that is not enough. We received a very passive aggressive email explaining why our opinions and views are wrong. Basically there was nothing they could have done!!
We were left to find another house in such little time, almost making us homeless with no customer care whatsoever !!!
Luckily we found somewhere and secured this with another agency, however this has knocked our confidence in other agencies.
If you sign with leaders don't expect to actually get your house!! Until the keys are in your hand.

Experienced landlord with different lettings agency over the years I can say Leaders hands down is the most incompetent agency I have ever come across.
Leaders are simply too BIG to care and YOU ARE JUST A NUMBER, they do not care about you or your property.
Paid for a fully managed service for years, and wanted was an efficient, competent, professionally managed service that communicates well with the landlord.
What I got was the most inefficient, incompetent, and unprofessional service that lacks even the most basic communication skills, that I have ever come across In my entire life.
The level of incompetence shown by Leaders in (mis)managing my properties is beyond belief:
• missed property inspections
• Failure to transfer and register tenant deposit!
• Consistent lack of comms
• repeatedly chasing the most basic of queries
• Lost set of keys
• unauthorised Maintenance done
• Consistent errors, mistakes and lies
• checkout inaccuracies
• erroneous charges
All above just some of the failings and by no means exhaustive.
In spite of all the failings above Leaders will not let you out of your contract with them unless you pay a punitive and excessive exit charge of 2 months’ rent + VAT!, Leaders reward for their failure!! Think carefully before signing the terms of business!, they would rather see you pay for their own mistakes.
What is even more shocking is Leaders inability to put things right be accountable and take responsibility, none of these individuals that I have dealt with over the past months has the ability, capability or willingness to put things right or to see right from wrong. The impression I get is that either A the staff simply do not care or B staff a little wet behind the ears, in either case simply unacceptable when you are entrusting them to look after what is most people’s biggest asset.
Typical scenarios from Leaders:
Me: “why has my rent not been paid?”
Leaders: “I will check with credit control, and get back you” (they never do)
Me: “why have I been over charged?/ why has my rent not gone into my bank account? / where is my refund that I was promised?”
Leaders: “I will check with the accounts department, and get back you” (they never do)
Me: “why have my property inspections not been done?”
Leaders: “I will check with the inspections department” (they don’t get back!!!)
Me: “Property need re-marketing"
Leaders: “I will get someone from marketing to give you a call” (you guessed it this call never arrives!)
Typical scenario you will find yourself in time and again with Leaders, everyone passes the buck and no one takes responsibility of acting on your requests, you are paying for a ‘fully managed’ service and you find yourself doing the managing all the time between all these different departments and playing piggy in the middle getting passed from pillar to post. As a busy landlord paying for a service you want your life to be made easier and not harder.
As a landlord it is easier to self-manage your properties or better still sign up to a proper agency, rather than pay Leaders for a fully managed service where all you will end up doing as a landlord is managing Leaders mis-managing your properties and paying them for the privilege.
God forbid should you require some maintenance and you choose to use Leaders contractors, they will charge you an extortionate amount way above a reasonable market rate,
Leaders is absolutely the very worst company I have ever had any dealings with in my entire life, where the levels of service are just abhorrent and the sheer scale of incompetence shown from top to bottom is beyond belief.
Leaders do not communicate at all well and have proven themselves to be totally unprofessional incompetent, dishonest, negligent and totally untrustworthy many times over.
Online blog soon detailing all failures (link will be posted below), also in touch with local and national newspaper consumer journalist to publish article on Leaders gross incompetence and gross negligence.

I rented a 5 bedroom house from them and was advised that it was long tenancy,so i got myself comfortable knowing i was going to leave in the property for atleast 5 years.They tricked me into taking entering a no deposit scheme which saw me paying more than £50/month for nothing. 6 months during my tenancy, they told me they were selling the property and i either had to buy or leave. I was not yet prepared to buy a property and with all the efforts i put to relocate with my wife and 3 children i was confused,depressed and stressed out that i had to start looking for a new home.I stayed in the property for more than 6 months while it was being sold and paid my rent in full an on time as i have always done. We had weekly visits from different persons that wanted to buy the house which terrified my children. I finally got a new place and i had to spend a lot of money again to move,look for new schools for my children,sygery etc. I made sure the unit was kept cleaner than when we initially moved in. Then a month later leaders sent me an email that i owe them £981 and i must pay the money. I also had the landlord at some point threaten me that since i was not a British citizen, he could make life difficult for me, that he knew people. This people are the worst of humans i have ever had to know. They are heartless and will prey on thier tenants

Incompetent and dishonest. Renting with Leaders was a shambles from application to the end of tenancy - and beyond, as a year on they are suddenly chasing us for money that they insisted on refunding when our tenancy ended. The property was unsafe for a year due to poor and delayed maintenance and many promises to fix doors and gates went unfulfilled. They took £300+ from the deposit of the tenants before us and attempted to take £600+ from ours (thankfully this was denied by the TDS). Staff were rude and unhelpful. I literally can't say one good thing about our experience.

Horrible agency. Extremely unprofessional and unfair. I took an old house from them - marked walls, broken door glasses, ripped wallpapers, dirty oven. Landlord wasn’t willing to sort any of that, told me to take the house ‘as it is’ so I painted, fixed everything I could fix and never complained. Never missed a rent payment and now when I moved out they are trying to charge me for things that were there when my tenancy started. Charging me ridiculous amounts like - £150 deep clean, £100 handy man (to fix issues that were already there before I moved in!!!), £250 window damage I did not incur, paint, garden etc etc. They have no shame giving me dirty, unpainted house with hundred issues and wanting it back brand new. Stay away from these crooks. Always keep the inventory handy, you can’t trust these agents, they will try to rip you off. At the end of the tenancy no one checks the inventory there, no one cares. They just want your money. Lack of professionalism and decency. Avoid at all costs.

Absolutely useless, zero interest in actually renting the houses they have available. In response to Leaders reply on Trustpilot where manager Emma asked me to call, I've tried 11 times.. most go to an answerphone which asks for a mailbox number (?) and the others just get cutoff ??♂️ I did eventually get them to call me back through the Sales office and Joe put the phone down on me when I was explaining how disappointed I was with their service.. thanks Joe.

I have just given them notice for their poor service, and they have got very rude and defensive on both calls. Giving decent landlords a bad reputation.
