I rented a property with Ryden from October 2010 - March 2011 and will never be making that mistake again. When the flat was first advertised we were told it came with a TV, DVD player and working fire however upon moving in we were then told none of these things worked. Around November our boiler broke down and through several calls to Ryden and several more house visits it was finally fixed in January. When we told them this was unacceptable all we got told was that we had electric heaters so it shouldn't be a problem. It was ridiculous as the flat was freezing!!! When we moved out last month we were told we could not get our full deposit back as although we had left it in a perfect condition the windows were not clean and the sofa had a dent in it - this dent that was there when we moved but they had failed to include that in their inventory and we stupidly failed to include it. So now we have to wait on our deposit until people from DFS see if they can put extra lining in the sofa!!!! Also she asked us if we used the TV and fire, eh no because they were not working and we were told this after moving in. It seems they want to keep a large part of our deposit for re decorating purposes.

Ryden are an absolutely unscrupulous letting agent. Everything goes well until you encounter a problem with the property and have to wait an age for a repair. In my case the boiler failed over the Christmas period and was not fixed until mind January. On moving out they tried to squeeze as... Read Full Review

I have recently had to deal with Ryden lettings agent and I have to say I have been left severely disappointed with the service I received and would advise anyone to beware when using them. I called up to say I wanted to immediatly secure a property for rent which had come on the market an hour... Read Full Review
This agent needs to act in an honest manner and not treat people as if they are numbers in a money game, disgraceful service

They are very helpful when moving in and everything seems so smooth and easy. When leaving however, the service is not good. Our apartment where we had been for 2 years (without anything serious going wrong) was deemed to need a professional clean after leaving. Without any choice I am still... Read Full Review

13 Jan 2011I was with the Glasgow branch and I have the same opinion! They do everything they can to weasel your deposit out of you. Claiming cleaning is needed when it clearly is not. Claiming you have taken...
