Good Moves managed my rental property. Sad to report that Good Moves / Jane Murray-Wood still owes me in excess of £1000.00 in rent that my tenant paid to them last year. Correspondence with Jane Murray Wood has been going on for several months; she has made many excuses for not paying. (I may quote from her e mails in another review). I cannot believe that embedding a new system takes so many months; how can a business manage to stay in business when it can't pay clients / make financial transactions? What should I believe? The accounts team based in the North East refuses to speak to me or give a contact name, has ceased contact with me and seems unable to transfer the money. Correspondence from the court has been ignored; judgement to pay immediately was issued by the court on 28th March 2014 and it has been ignored. I would urge any prospective landlords/tenants to use agents who are prepared to be accountable. I have learned an expensive lesson. I will make further updates. All very sad really.

9 May 2014Thank you, Sheila for your comments in relation to the service levels you received whilst we managed your property. It is disappointing for us as a Company when things go wrong, and the relationship between client and agent breaks down, whatever the reason. In this instance, I admit that in relation to the account management of your property, we did not deliver our usual high standards of service and you decided to go to legals to resolve the issue. We are not obliged to respond to the court and correspond with them, as we admitted our failure. We still need to settle your account, and I admit that this has taken longer than I would have expected; however, we are a small Company, we don't have unlimited resources to put a 'quick fix' in place, but what we have done is invest heavily (out of our personal funds) to embed a new management and sales software system which, whilst it is taking time to train staff and get used to the new technology, it IS ensuring that our accounts system improves and eventually, we hope to be able to offer Landlord same day payments. In terms of your comments regarding our North East Accounts Team, they do not 'refuse to speak to you' but rather they have a policy of email communication because persistant calls interrupt their work flow and they find it much easier to make use of electronic communication resources. Also, at the time during which we managed your property, on a personal basis, I was receiving treatment at the Burney Breast Cancer Clinic at St Helens Hospital, last year I had surgery to remove two lumps, in addition to battling on a day to day basis with severe osteoarthritis and yet still endeavoring to run the business effectively on a day to day basis. Obviously, I failed to deliver the quality of service in relation to running your account in a timely fashion, and I accept this, and apologise for my failures. However, in all other aspects of the management of your property, we upheld our usual high service levels in finding and vetting suitable tenants through two rental periods, attending to maintenance issues to protect your equity in your bricks and mortar, attended regularly to conduct interim inspections, serving of appropriate notices when applicable and the like. The Company continues to improve on a day to day basis, financial transactions speeds are improving, and we are taking steps to relocate our accounts team back to the North West shortly in an effort to continue offering improved service levels to our clients. I am sorry we let you down on this occasion, I am confident for the future that we are moving the Company forward in the right direction and if landlords would like to contact our office to find out more about us, and our services, please don't just look at the reviews. Come and see us and let us help you let your property.

23 Jul 2015My husband carried out work to Good Moves office nearly 2 months ago. He has been awaiting payment of nearly £4000 for well over a month. He has been very patient with Jane and week after week has listened to her excuses and promises of "good will" payments only to be let down. It is a small, new business that my husband and his partner are working extremely hard to build. He has been nothing but patient and professional waiting for payment. Reading comments from your customers has angered me greatly. You obviously could not afford to get work done to your office but you went ahead anyway. Being the loyal man he is my husband has paid his employees for the work carried out but has left himself very short. We as a family have suffered greatly. My son not being able to go on a school trip last week that was promised to him. Your disregard for people is shocking. I wonder how you manage to sleep at night?? I await your clever twisted version of the truth with added legal jargon.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
