I paid over £900 deposit to Portfolio Lettings at their office in Cadzow Street Hamilton. The house they rented to me was impeccable when I got the keys, and 18 months later when I vacated, it was handed back in the same impeccable condition. As a police officer, the precaution was taken of photographing before and after as there are some horror stories about the letting agency sector. I am still waiting for my deposit to be refunded. It is well over a year now. All I have received was a very blunt, borderling actionable and ill tempered missive from a chap who called himself Kevin and said he was the boss. AVOID THIS COMPANY. Certainly do NOT give them a deposit unless you have legal protection, or until they join some form of reputable third party deposit holding scheme.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Refund my deposit AND provide a proper WRITTEN account of any deductions please. Also they should be OUTLAWED FROM HOLDING TENANTS\' DEPOSITS. Portfolio Lettings should hand ALL tenant deposits to a reputable third party and independant organisation. They cannot be trusted with tenant\'s money.

I rented from portfolio they also did not give me back some of my £825 security deposit.
