I filled out the form on Rightmove to enquire about this property to view. Within minutes I got a auto response text message asking to confirm a time to view. Once that was done, after a couple of automated text messages, we had a confirmation of the viewing time. We arrived at property and decided we wanted it. So we informed the Landlord, who informed MakeurMove. The problems started form there. This was late on Friday night, shortly after the viewing we received the first phonecall. It was aggressive and demanding where a rude woman called with a thick accent was demanding money. The thing was we had agreed certain things with the landlord and due to the aggressive nature of the call I of course was not going to give away my card details without clarifying all the information. Rude and impatient the caller had absolutely no interest in getting the correct information or sorting paper work either and made repeated mistakes as she seemed more concerned with getting her fee than any sort of service. We decided to call them back and sort it later when we had someone more civilised on the phone. We called our landlord who had just recieved a similiarly agressive call and seemed somewhat stunned too. The landlord said to us due to make your moves behaviour she would insist we only paid the minimum fee and told us we would not pay for security checks etc. I do not mind paying a fee for the service but thus far apart for a couple of automated messages all we had received from them was rude greedy agressive phone calls by someone who had absolutely no grasp of customer service. We clarified everything we could with our landlord and she also phoned them and insisted on us paying the absolute minimum fee due to there behaviour. The next day I then received another aggressive phone call, completely ignoring what our landlord had told them and I was simply stunned by the aggressive rude nature of the call. They obviously have no reliable form of internal communication but what was really contemptable was the nature of the call, im sure the "mob" are more polite when they ask for money and have a better grasp of customer service. I completely refused to give out my bank details to such an incompetant. the conversation simply went in circles as she wanted money and I refused to give them money. I will not be bullied by anyone especially a company supposedly valuing my custom. I also was not going to give them carte blanche to access my bank acount as this aggressive female kept adding charges which the landlord had specifically told them not too. What wasparticularly bad was that when I refused to give them my card details she then tried to bully my wife into giving them my details! Here is a direct quote just to give you an idea " well Mrs **** if you dont pay the fees immediately we demand then there will be no tenancy signed and we will see too it you dont get the house" We relayed this to the landlord who replied" Its my house Ill decide who gets it and who doesnt!". It was a frankly vulgar display of customer service, it stank fo greed, aggression and basic incompetance. If you are going to run a "racket" of charging 100 quid for a couple of automated text messages and putting a property online the least you could do is operate basic politeness. In the end I called on my own terms and dealt with a nice helpful scouse chap who sorted it all without fuss and I paid the admin fee. Still cost me 120 quid for "admin" but a least he was polite. oh and just to add, once your signed up with them be prepared to be terrorised by emails and texts trying to sell you everything from broad band to boiler checks. Congratulations to this company for giving me the worst customer service I have received in years. Makeurmove are very lucky we formed a good relationship with the landlord and sorted it between us. They should also know we viewed over 5 similiar priced properties in the area that day and could have easily just walked due to there behaviour and picked any of the others with other estate agents. Beware this company they are equally rude to potential tenants as they are to landlords. I cannot even understand why this company even exists if you are a landlord just advertise your property yourself and do your own checks, its a lot cheaper and wont cause you to lose potential tenants."Makeurmove" the hell away from this company and do it yourself or get someone who knows what they are doing.
Estate agents in any form dont have the best reputation but this behaviour reaches a new level. A major overhaul of staff, computing system and some basic manners would be a start.

Do not waste your money Do not waste your money. I am a current customer of MakeUrMove and it is a truly a bad service. They make their money upfront so there is no incentive for them to actually rent your property. They just advertise and sit back. I also rather foolishly bought their viewings ... Read Full Review

Everything, from start to finish, was made as easy for me as possible. I prepared the ad on the Monday, the ad went live on the Tuesday, when I was sent requests from 3 potential sets of tenants. The viewings took place on the Wednesday, which went really well. I was able to meet the prospective ... Read Full Review

I have just paid £75 + VAT and it is the first time I have paid money out. Of course I preferred it when it was free for the landlords providing the tenant paid for a credit rating.

I have 6 rental properties, and have been using MakeUrMove for about 5 years. Whereas I always take viewings myself, MakeUrMove are excellent at marketing and arranging the viewings. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
