I have dealt with Estate Agents some 30 years and I can honestly say that without question this is the WORST experience with Agents that I have ever encountered. Communication was dire, they did not appear to understand how Subject Access Requests work, they did not comply with THEIR OWN complaints procedure. When they terminated (with immediate effect) the Sales Agreement we engaged another Agent and the property was sold STC within a few weeks. When I attempted to find out the name of the person I was intending to complain about he refused to give me his surname. I had to search this on the internet under Companies House and was horrified to ascertain he is the Director of the Company. Basically the Director of the Company refused to give me his surname! This is ridiculous as it is public information. However it, (amongst other issues) was incredibly frustrating to ourselves a Clients. They claimed I was rude to their staff simply asking a progress report due to their inertia in the matter. Eventually due to non compliance with their own procedures I referred the matter to the Property Redress scheme (at the time they were advertising they were part of the Ombudsman Scheme - they were not - this was misleading). They attempted to have the matter thrown out claiming I was not able to refer the matter as the property was in my Husband's name (this despite them corresponding with me throughout the "sales' process and me representing him due to his health issues - the Redress Scheme, sensibly did not accept this). The Property Redress Scheme found in our favour awarding compensation. All in all a very unnecessary egregious experience.

There isn't a star rating low enough. Objectionable, argumentative, rude. When I said I was unhappy at lack of progress I was too "tough".
