This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with a letting agency. After years of being responsible, respectful tenants, we were met with nothing but arrogance, intimidation, and completely unjustified demands at the end of our tenancy. Despite having a clear agreement and giving them everything they asked —including cleaning and handing over keys—they came back with a long, inflated list of “damages” and “issues,” many of which were clearly fabricated or severely exaggerated. They even tried to charge us nearly £2,000 with less than 24 hours to respond, using threatening language and accusations to back it up. It was clear this was just a cash grab. The level of unprofessionalism from the landlord and Black & White was disgraceful. They had zero interest in fairness or the truth—just how much money they could squeeze out of us before the next tenant moved in. Do yourself a favour: avoid these people entirely. They are not trustworthy, they will twist your words, ignore your efforts, and leave you feeling completely powerless. Disgusting behaviour, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.
