The call from this applicant was indeed handled by David and he believes he did so in a perfectly polite and professional manner. The applicant was unwilling to listen to his explanation of how our referencing process works, she had only completed our online application form that morning and, as was stated, it is company policy to arrange viewings of properties only when the referencing had been completed satisfactorily. The applicant repeatedly questioned how we could obtain references despite having completed the application, she was obviously frustrated that they could not arrange a viewing appointment there and then and insisted that other agents were content to carry out viewings without a referencing process. David simply informed them that it was company policy not to arrange viewings until the application had been passed but again, she did not wish to hear this and became abusive implying that the company was untrustworthy and probably “another corrupt landlord”. Given that we are not landlords but letting agents, she apparently did not appreciate the difference.
