I rented a property managed by Tor Estates for 2 years. They were very slow to respond to any maintenance queries, e.g. took 2 months to repair a garage door. Lights not working in the same garage for over a year. Unnecessary and intrusive inspections every 3 months. They showed little or no knowledge or regard for tenancy rights and legislation. Served an illegal Section 13 notice trying to increase my rent way above the rent review clause in my contract. Also insisted I have the carpets professionally cleaned when moving out, despite being an offence under the Tenancy Fees Act 2019. Despite promises of a swift return of my deposit, and no mention of deductions, I have been chasing for 11 months and still not had my deposit returned.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
