I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with FPE, a building management company that left me frustrated, stressed, and out of pocket. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for their responsibilities as building managers has left me deeply dissatisfied. The first sign of trouble came when my building suffered a major flooding due to faulty pipeworks, causing extensive damage to my flat and flat underneath me. As a responsible tenant who had paid for building insurance, I promptly contacted FPE seeking guidance. Their initial response was to advise me to undertake the necessary repairs and submit the invoices for reimbursement later. Naively, I followed their advice and spent a substantial amount of my own money on repairs. However, it quickly became apparent that FPE had ulterior motives. They attempted to discourage me from filing a claim with the insurance company, citing flimsy reasons such as unlikely coverage of water damage. It became clear that they were merely trying to shirk their responsibilities and avoid any inconvenience or additional work on their part. I found this attitude to be lazy and unprofessional, as they were actively discouraging me from utilizing the very service I paid for – building insurance. Frustrated by their lack of cooperation, I decided to bypass FPE and directly lodge a claim with the insurance company. Surprisingly, the insurance company accepted my claim and was willing to provide compensation. However, there was a significant hurdle: my name was not listed on the insurance policy; instead, it was under the landlord's name, whom FPE supposedly manages for. This meant I had to turn to FPE once again and request authorization for the insurance company to pay me directly. Unfortunately, despite my repeated attempts to reach out to them, FPE completely ignored me. Their lack of response resulted in the claim remaining unresolved, leaving me without the compensation I deserved. Throughout this entire ordeal, FPE displayed a complete lack of care and professionalism. They ignored my numerous attempts to communicate, be it through emails or phone calls, leaving me feeling utterly disregarded and abandoned. Their negligence and failure to fulfill their duty as building managers is inexcusable. To make matters worse, the repairs required were extensive and costly. I was forced to spend thousands of pounds on fixing the leak and subsequent damage, including the removal of parts of walls and flooring. The entire process took an arduous two months, during which I chased FPE relentlessly for any form of response or assistance. Their behaviour demonstrated a complete lack of regard for their obligations and showed a clear unwillingness to perform their job diligently. In conclusion, my experience with FPE has been nothing short of a nightmare. Their uncaring and unprofessional approach, combined with their lazy attitude and lack of effective communication, has left me deeply disappointed. I strongly advise anyone considering FPE as their building management company to look elsewhere for a more reliable and responsible option. Their inability to resolve my insurance claim and their complete disregard for my concerns have left me in financial distress and with a significant amount of unresolved damage in my property.

My personal experience with FPE is negative I am afraid. Yes the block that we are in is old and in need of maintenance with all residents needing to pay more to move the block forward. However with FPE we moved backward. A very disorganised company, minor work would be carried out with no ... Read Full Review

For many years, until about four years ago, our small block of 16 flats was self managed. The building began to show signs of its 37 years and the owners realised we were not up to speed with new company and property law, so we researched the field of property managers and agreed to hire FPE. Fees are very reasonable. They are a family business and compare more than favourably with comparably priced agencies in the district.

I wouldn't use FPE Management if all my property depended on it. Their knowledge of the field is embarrassing. For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
