AS A MULTIPLE LANDLORD THESE LAST 25 YEARS USING VARIOUS RENTAL AGENTS IN THE SOUTH OF ENGLAND 'LEADERS LETTINGS' HAS GONE FROM BAD TO TERRIBLE. THE TERRIBLE IS INSTEAD OF DEALING DIRECTLY WITH YOUR CHOSEN BRANCH SOME ASPECTS ARE NOW BEING DEALT WITH CENTRALLY WHICH COULD BE WORTHING, BOURNEMOUTH, WOKINGHAM, AND POSSIBLY OTHER OFFICES AND THIS CAN TAKE MONTHS AS I FOUND. ONE OF MY TENANTS DID NOT GET THEIR DEPOSIT LOOKED AT FOR A MONTH AFTER THEY LEFT AND THE DILAPIDATION MATTER TOOK 5 MONTHS DESPITE 30 PHONE CALLS AND NUMEROUS EMAILS FROM ME WITH CONTINUAL PROMISES THAT IT WOULD BE DEALT WITH. THE BRANCH MANAGER HAD NO INTEREST IN THIS AND SAID IT WAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIM AND SUGGESTED I CONTACT HIS AREA MANAGER. THEN WE HAVE INVENTORIES WHERE A SPECK OF DUST WILL BE NOTED AT CHECK IN AND THEN THE CHECK OUT REPORT 'MAJORS' ON TINY PICTURE HOOK HOLES BUT OVERLOOKS RUINED CARPETS, STAINED LINO, A BLACKENED HOB, LIMESCALED WALL TILES, TORN CURTAINS, DAMAGED BLINDS AND ACCUMULATED FILTH. INTERIM INSPECTIONS ARE MAINLY A BOX TICKING EXERCISE SHOWING ALL IS GOOD WHEN IT IS NOT. GREEDY TOO; JUST INCREASED THEIR SERVICE CHARGE (RENT COLLECTION) BY O.5% PLUS VAT , YET ANOTHER INCREASE SIGHTING ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATION BUT CONVENIENTLY OVERLOOKING THE FACT THAT RENTALS HAVE INCREASED CONSIDERABLY, IN SOME CASES BY 20% IN THE LAST YEAR. THEY NEED TO IMPROVE THEIR PERFORMANCE

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
