Horrendous experience, Do not care about tenants. Do not trust that you will actually have your property until after you move in!! We will never use Move lettings again! A week before our move in date we receive a call telling us the landlord’s circumstances have changed and he will need the property back after 4 months, everything signed, paid for, notices given on current properties and they seemed to think it reasonable we move with our son in to this now temporary accommodation. When we discussed that if we were to move into the property we would need some sort of compensation for the emotional and financial cost this has and will cause us they went on the defence of the landlord straightaway and thought it was ok firstly this has happened and while yes I get it is the landlords property that if we were to pull out of a signed 12 month tenancy we would of had to pay costs and could even have been taken to court for the loss of rent. After a very stressful 24 hours of tears from all including my son who was looking forward to moving back near his friends and after speaking to other agents who couldn’t believe this was happening to us and that Move would even let a landlord’s property out when the landlord did not have stable accommodation of his own we decided the stress was too much and the thought of living with that stress for 4 months knowing we would have been homeless if we didn’t find anything in the meantime we had little choice but to withdraw from the property (I believe the intention was to make this happen anyway). We spoke to our current landlords who both had far more care about us being homeless in the situation and rescinded our notices. There has been costs occurred that we cannot recover and when we asked for our money back they said it would take 5 working days, luckily they obviously have a more caring accounts department as our monies were returned by the end of that day. If you chose Move as a tenant don’t trust that you will actually move into the property until you are there and if something goes wrong they will not defend or protect you in anyway. We have never been through anything this stressful (and we’ve both been through a lot in life) and Move did not support us in any way.
