This is my personal opinion about my experiences of dealing with JNR Properties, so take what follows for whatever it is worth: I have witnessed JNR Properties send documents with inaccurate information, such as contracts with the wrong dates on and receipts with mistakes, repeatedly. On at least one occasion, JNR Properties have failed to return a holding fee, and I know this because I know a prospective tenant who felt they had to withdraw from the process of letting due to the errors from JNR. They (JNR) then failed to return the holding fee, so I feel I have to recommend avoiding JNR Properties, for that reason, as well as others that I’ll get into below. JNR Properties have made what I believe to be unfair demands regarding the acquisition of guarantors from prospective tenants. The company has previously made demands for deeds to the homes of prospective tenants’ family members to validate them as a guarantee. I believe this is a major overstep and that it is unfair to ask such a thing of a prospective tenant.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
