Everything is alright with them until you are moving home and apply to get your 'protected' deposit back. They work with DPS and these are anything but impartial in a dispute, they awarded Crofts my deposit. People be warned! I'll write my experience with them: I am disabled and paid the deposit from my disability money, as it was urgent to get out of an abusive situation with former neighbours. When we moved out, Crofts carried out an inspection without us being there, behind our backs. We cleaned the house and they made some allegations that there was cleaning needed, repairs and other stuff, which wasn't true, but we didn't have proof. This happened just over three months ago and they still haven't done any repairs to the place (we checked that in person), but claimed our deposit money from us. When we moved there, the front garden was in a right state, weeds overgrown etc. and we made it look better. They made us pay for that too. In conclusion, if you decide to rent with them, please take photos of your home before you move in and when you are moving out because if they've done it to someone disabled and vulnerable, they will do it to you too. Your deposit is NOT protected with them. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!

27 Aug 2021Hi Cristina, I'm sorry to hear you aren't happy with the service provided by Crofts at the end of your tenancy. The checkout inspection is always carried out once the keys have been returned to us unless requested by a tenant that they are present when it takes place, something which we do accommodate where requested. When the checkout was conducted it was noted there were areas of the property that needed cleaning/repair. We always take inventory of a property before a tenancy begins, and this was used in evidence on the deposit claim. The deposit dispute went to adjudication and the independent assessor decided in favour of the landlord and therefore awarded the claim to him. For the independent assessor to decide this, they must have felt the claim put forward was fair and accurate. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused, and wish you the best for the future.

We were letting our property with Crofts for a number of years most of which were fine, but when we started experiencing problems with our tenant, mostly late rent, their shortcomings became evident. When the rent started to be delayed there was no support or communication from Crofts, they only... Read Full Review
