The worst experience I have had with an estate agents. I booked a viewing for a property within a couple of hours of it going on the market, I called the next day to move the viewing forward and was told an offer had been put in under the asking price (already a breach of GDPR) I viewed the property that day and put in a higher offer above asking price. I was then told the house had gone to the other buyer and I wasn't allowed to put in a higher offer, as they were a cash buyer property developer offering less than my offer and less than the asking price (another breach of GDPR). I went back to the estate agents and offered to cash buy the property at my higher offer and was immediately shut down and told the seller had already turned down a higher cash offer than mine on the same day they accepted the below asking price cash offer was made? I hadn't been told this previously and this makes no sense as to why a seller would accept a significantly lower offer from two cash buyers put forwards on the same day. Any time I tried to speak on the phone to the estate agent to explain my circumstances she spoke over me, was rude and ended up hanging up on me. She also blamed me for knowing the other offer was under offer as I shouldn't know due to it being a breach of GDPR, I only know because two staff members had told me so that is not a mistake on my part. I do not believe my offers or messages were put forwards to the seller. I would absolutely avoid this estate agents at all costs if I was selling a house, as I'm not sure they have the seller at their best interest.
