This company was managing our flat in Cotham Bristol. Our last tenants moved out in early September 2019 due to extensive issues with rising damp. After the tenants moved out and an inspection was carried out the property was in a deplorable state. Since that time we have been trying to get the issues resolved. We had an independent contractor performed a damp report which we received on the 28th of October 2019. Since then, we have been trying to get quotes from companies to get the problems rectified. We got our first quotation on the 21st of April, 7 months after the tenants moved out. Since then they haven’t been able to arrange any more visits for quotation. On the 28th of May we were informed that they had lost the keys for the property. I asked them to change the locks at Connells expense which they agree to do. On the 9th of June they informed that the first locksmith had let them down and it the locks hadn’t been changed. . Since then I haven't heard anything and they are not responding to my emails. Here we are, 10 months after the tenants moved out and we are still no closer to getting these problems resolved and the property is not in a habitable state.

9 Feb 2022We were promised a premium service and coerced into signing a contract, which we later found out had a tie-in period of 6 months. The smooth talking agent made it look like that signing the contract was a mere formality as the house will be sold in couple of weeks, if not days. The ad on Rightmove had wrong information about our house and was awfully written. The agents never responded to our emails and only talked to us when we called them. We were not provided the copies of the contract or EPC, till weeks later when we chased them for the documents. They make very talk claims, distort stats to suit their narrative and deliver very little, at least in my experience. I’ll never use them again and would advise everyone to read their contract carefully before signing the dotted lines.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
