Very biased towards the landlord if you want any of your deposit back - they tried to say I was responsible for issues that were already there and noted within the check-in report (which they never sent me or asked me to confirm upon move in until I asked for it). Fine for timely email correspondence but not only did I have them allow people into the flat without telling me or with my permission on several occasions. If they did tell me, they gave me less than 24 hours notice in advance and did nothing about it when I complained. Additionally, when asked to fix something it took a very long time to address the issue - if it was addressed at all (e.g. I asked upon moving in that they ask the building to fix my intercom and doorbell, which was supposed to be fixed within a few months. A year later, and I move out and it still wasn't fixed.) I would highly advise against John D. Wood.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
