We rented with Your Move for 6 months before calling it in and ending the tenancy - probably enough of a signifier by itself, really. After paying over a £1,400 deposit for a flat next to a train line with barely any connections next to Millwall, we were told it had recently had work done to it- which presumably explained why half the cupboards, the toilet light, the shower, the oven, vent and drawers all fell apart almost immediately. Soon afterwards, the property began to get infested with mould where the windows weren’t properly installed- just in time for winter. One room (which I’ve uploaded a picture of the day we moved out from, after their ‘work’) was so bad that the tenant left weeks before we were due, because he couldn’t physically take it any longer. Your Move stalled us for months before eventually hiring a painter to ‘fix’ it- he painted over it, stained the entire floor and bathroom, damaged mine and my mates’ audio equipment and made no difference to the mould (though Marcel, one of the agents, has ignored me mentioning this every time for months). They allege to have got the council round to sort out the property- all we saw was some guys put scaffolding up outside, leave, then come take it down two weeks later. They accused us of not paying rent and tried to evict us - before rent was due, sending out a letter with an altered date to intimidate us- forgetting they’d stamped it, which had the actual date on. Marcel has no regard for clients, believes everyone to be beneath him and has very little interest in anything not involving himself - that, I imagine, must be why he lied and repeatedly claimed to be our landlord to try to stop us asking for someone else to contact- when at the beginning of the tenancy we were told we had a private landlord. I cannot possibly recommend Your Move any less; Marcel especially seems to disregard the law as flagrantly as tenant safety. Harry and Shanika were both lovely people and I really hope they find employment with better companies- if you absolutely have to use these guys, like it’s life or death and they’re your only option, keep records of everything they say and everything in the property.

This complaint isn't specifically directed at their New Cross office but includes them (for accepting unsuitable tenants). I recently let my property and when I realized the tenants were sub-letting, I was confronted with the most diabolical display of trying to shift the blame on anyone else... Read Full Review
they could have accepted the sub-letting, taken a different approach and admitted the routine visit didn\'t pick up on it. As a landlord, I am not out to pick holes but I do want my property protected and I don\'t accept any of their defenses. The responses I received were childish and rude. we all make mistakes, the best thing to do is own up to them. I don\'t want agent feedback, I have tried complaining, I\'ve had enough of them! I don\'t know where you select NO THANKS!!

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
