From start to finish my tenancy was a shambles. It began with administrative errors meaning I was getting harassed for late rent payments during the first month due to agents typing wrong date for rent payment on agreement. They later refused to show me the tenancy agreement, saying I was not a tenant of the property despite my signature being right there on the tenancy form! Yet this was nothing compared to the complete lack of care shown throughout our tenancy. Repairs weren't conducted, that's if my emails were responded to at all. We were forced to pay for repairs of ongoing problems which commenced before our tenancy which I have hard evidence for as I contancted the previous tenant and was forwarded her corespence to the letting agency, so I 100% know Homebuyers were aware of the issue. However they denied all knowledge and blamed us for the issue. This just highlights the company's dishonesty. To top it off there were 60 pictures sent at the end of our tenancy for things that required cleaning or repairing, despite it all being in better condition than when we actually moved in. Fortunately we had photos beforehand. They even sent us two photos of indivudual hairs that someone had shed in the property. That's how ludicrous it was. Someone had also entered he property the day following our vacation of it in order to frame us for a repair, be that the letting agency or the landlord, we will never know. Yet I had photos upon leaving, so know it was criminal damage not committed by us so I reported it to the police. I got my deposit back as they realised they were trying their luck a little too much and decided to give me it back in full without the initial deductions they suggested so I wouldn't take it further in the hope their dishonesty wouldn't be publicly outed. Do not trust this estate agent one bit.
Only accepted cash which was bizarre as the second agency I used for my next rental refused cash due to money laundering policies.

9 Jul 2019We can see that you are very upset but your review makes no logical sense. If you were a tenant who had signed a tenancy agreement then you would have a copy of it at the point you signed it. The landlord of the property instructs repairs once they are reported. HomeBuyers would have no incentive not to carry out repairs as this would only cause undue administration. HomeBuyers do not make the decision as to what to claim from a deposit. As HomeBuyers receive no benefit from a deposit claim with all funds going to the landlord there would be no incentive to go through this performance. If a deposit claim was dropped this would be the decision of the landlord. We cannot make this decision on a landlords behalf.

30 Jul 2019This sounds very similar to our experience even down to two photos of individual hairs which lead to us paying for a full kitchen cupboard clean!! We also had administration errors where they were sending personal details to an incorrect email and we did not even get an apology. And we also did not get a copy of our contract when we resigned so the above comment is redundant I think your review makes perfect sense.

The worst experience I've ever had renting a property. The staff on the lettings side are rude, unprofessional liars. Repairs take months to complete. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
