Wensum Properties

I rented from Wensum Property Management over 10 years ago, and still have occasional nightmares about it. You dreaded reporting problems which required repairs, partly because it involved speaking to the abominably rude and unhelpful person who answered the phone in their Norwich office, and partly because you knew that repairs would take an eternity to be completed and would be done cheaply and to the lowest possible standard. The property was a direct danger to health, and they seemed not to care at all. On one occasion, the front door needed to be repaired and couldn't be closed. Any reputable agency would send someone out straightaway. Not this one - they stalled for 48 hours, and advised me to barricade it with furniture to deter intruders from trying to enter. You couldn't make it up. A thoroughly depressing experience all round, and it is frankly amazing that they are still in business. Impossible to recommend, even to your worst enemy. I have rented from a number of letting agencies over the years, and this one is the absolute worst you could possibly imagine. They are, however, very efficient at hoovering up the security deposit and will try to charge the tenant for any defects in the property, including those which are a direct result of the agency's lack of maintenance. The chances of these defects being rectified for the next tenant are not good, and when I had the misfortune to move into one of their properties, it was clear that it hadn't even been cleaned in a very long time. If you are thinking of renting from them, don't. You'll thank me for it later.
