The Step (Tyldesley)

Trust me, you must AVOID this estate agents. We put our house on the market late 2017 and decided to use The Step. The house we were buying was a very difficult purchase with it being an old farm house so the process was taking a little longer. Although it was only 5 months from start to finish and our solicitor told us that's actually about average! But we were made to feel very under pressure. It didn't help that the buyers were also putting a lot of pressure on us too. The owner Janice is an extremely awful person. I'm so surprised that this estate agents is still in business. It became very apparent to us that even though she was technically working for us and we were paying her she actually was working with the buyers more and was in cohesion with them throughout the sale. Our lovely sweet solicitor refused to ever talk to her again because Janice gave her a lot of abuse on the telephone telling her she was incompetent at her job amongst other things. The whole process was extremely stressful and made a lot worse by The Step. She is a very vicious women with no compassion. The company is very unprofessional. Our new house completed in February but we held back from paying them for their services because we were advised by our solicitor we could take them to court for misconduct. Unfortunately having 3 small children and work we just didn't have the time or effort to do this so we payed and accepted it was a very bad decision and just looked forward to our new house :-)
