If you're a student at Oxford Brookes University, I would recommend NEVER going to Taylors. Me and 3 future housemates went to visit a beautiful student house in St Clements one Saturday morning in October 2017. We went on a viewing with an estate agent from Taylors and told her immediately after the viewing that we would like the put a deposit down and rent the house. We were informed that as there was another booking that day, we would have to wait until Monday and put a booking down as the doors opened!! I've never actually heard of this rule, as although the wonderful estate agents we eventually went with (James.C.Penney) double booked our viewing (and so we viewed he house with another group) and had further viewings at 9am the next day, when we immediately said that we wanted the house, that was it, done. We decided to make our way on Monday morning (before a full day of lectures) at 6am in bitter -3 degree cold to the Estate Agents, where it opened at 9am. To our surprise, the other group (4 Oxford Postgraduates) were already waiting! We were distraught, but stayed anyway as we had the advantage of all 4 of our group being present- the deal was that the first FULL group through the door got the house, and only 3 of the other group were present. As the doors opened, we were the first 4 (after a lot of pushing by the other group), but Taylors suddenly backtracked on their policy and told us it would instead be an internal decision. The other member of the Oxford Student's party had still not turned up at this point. After another 40 mins of anxiously waiting (outside! I don't see why we couldn't have been invited in), we were informed we would not be getting the house as we were undergraduates from Brookes, and Postgraduates from Oxford seemed like a better option for the estate agents and he landlords. It was blatantly biased towards the Oxford students, and we left without a house, no offer of help from the estate agents to help us find another, literally turned away at the door. NEVER EVER USE TAYLORS.

Hello, Taylors of Headington, Oxford are truly terrible, but what is worse is that they are not only incompetent and unreliable they are also pushy, dishonest and probably a-moral. They push and push and push, rushing everybody, claiming that each side is rushing the other side when neither side... Read Full Review
Not pushed us for more money. Not pushed us and our lawyers continually, which verged on harassment. Listened to our instructions. Appreciated our concerns. Made sure the seller fulfilled their legal obligations to us. Showed us some respect. Actually knew something about the property whenever we asked a question. Did not simply lie to us and make empty promises whenever we made a request.
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
