I sold my house for £82,356. Guess what the fees were - £3,625.60 - 4.4% of the sale value. Your Move state they will handle everything for you as sole agent. They then give you a fee agreement to sign for their fees and that of their chosen solicitor. That solicitor then gives you another fee agreement for their fees and that of Your Move. I thought that one must be included in the other, otherwise it seems like double billing. Little did I know that all these fees are added together. Your Move Agent asked me what I thought the house was worth. I had no clue but guessed at £80,000. He said that was spot on and that was the sale price. I later learned that the Zoopla evaluation is £112000 to £145000. No wonder it sold quickly. Their choice of solicitors was Gilson Gray from Glasgow. From the start they couldn't write a correct name on a document, sent out many repeat enquiries, left everything too late for the agreed handover date and lost two vital documents causing us to make emergency journeys to Montrose to sign paperwork urgently. I did however, have to pay them to correct all their blunders even though I was the one put out.
