Not impressed with the level of service by Derek Spires. In 5 months of being up for sale with them we achieved a total of 5 viewings. I suspect every one of them was due to the potential buyer looking us up on Rightmove and simply contacting Derek Spires as they were our point of contact. None of this was due to Derek Spires being pro-active. We constantly had to chase them for feedback. They took ages to update photos when we made changes to certain rooms. They didn't publish our epc for months, despite us paying them for this. When we asked them for feedback on what we could do to help sell the house, they simply said things are quiet and even blamed the Euro 2012 football as a possible reason! What a complete joke! When you speak to them on the phone it is as if you are an inconvenience to them. It is summed up by me cancelling our agreement with them and the women on the phone simply saying fine, just drop us written confirmation. No questions asked, no request as to why I was doing this, no interest whatsoever. If you want to pay someone a few grand for doing absolutely nothing to sell your house, then go ahead. We're off to try emoov. They get good reviews, appear to be pro-active and don't charge stupid fees. One day, companies like Derek Spires won't exist, good riddance!
