Amazing bad faith all along my 1.5 years of tenancy. Lied consistently, included at check-out, where they claimed undue fees due to a patchy check-in report that I contested as well as I could at the time and a 10 times more detailed check-out report that they manage to sneakily obtain in my absence from the premises. Would strongly advise to avoid this agent unless you enjoy being stolen money unfairly.

12 Jan 2018Dear Mr Valentin, Whilst we appreciate your frustrations with the process that you have been through, we must make clear that at all stages throughout the tenancy and the deposit return, Sandfords has acted completely in accordance with the law and the guidelines as recommended by the Tenancy Dispute Service (TDS). Had we been given the opportunity to explain the deductions to you prior to your submission of the dispute to the TDS, then this may have had a different outcome. As I am sure you are aware, the TDS acts as an independent advisory service to resolve disputes between landlords and tenants. On this occasion the TDS adjudicator, having considered your submission, decided that the landlord should be compensated for damage to his property that was above and beyond reasonable wear and tear. Although this may not be the result that you hope for, it certainly does not constitute theft by either us or the Landlord. We categorically deny acting in any way that could be considered to be sneaky or dishonest. Regards Sandfords

12 Jan 2018I maintain my review in its entirety. You played dead for weeks before me having to resort to using TDS. The adjucator did what they do: adjucate, kind of in the middle. There was no 'middle': as an example you claimed damages to the outside of the door that were there on entry and that I took pictures of, but since they were not mentioned on the entry check-in other than by my personal pictures and since you used a much more thourough check-out clerk at exit while making sure I did not know the check-out inventory was taking place, the adjucator allocated you part of the undue claim. This is dishonnest. Other example of you being dishonnest is me having to fight through dozens of emails and finally having to resort to contacting the Ombudsman so you would finally comply with a written agreement. This is dishonnest. As for an example of being sneaking: not telling nor inviting your tenant to the check-out inventory when he specifically required to attend. This is sneaky. Tenants beware: if you want trouble, go for Sandfords.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
