I was interested in selling my business and had a meeting with a rep from RTA. The conman/salesman told me what i wanted to hear and as i needed a big change in my life i threw caution to the wind and signed up. BIG MISTAKE! I knew something was not right and did some deeper research and read some disturbing things about how RTA operate. I consider myself an honest and guy and realized to late that doing any business with these guys was risky at best and downright foolish. A few hours after signing i contacted them to instruct them that i no longer wanted to sell my business with them.... That is when they started to get nasty immediate threats of liability and even court if i did not pay up at least HALF the expected commission. I was not willing to pay that enormous sum of money for nothing! They forced me through the threat of contractual obligation, court and huge fines to pay the �1800 pounds deposit and in fear of this i payed them. These are not people to do business with. AVOID.

7 Nov 2017They are currently suing me to for cancelling 3 hours after signing unknowing it was a binding contract the rep didn't mention that part!! I'm trying to gather all the victims together so maybe as a mass we can all stand up this awful company and stop them from continuing to miss-lead potential customers! 28 Nov 2017My husband signed a contract today for them to find a buyer or renter. He told them he is closing business in jan 2018 as he has cancer. Do u think they will try to ask for money as not a going concern? I am worried he has been conned. Thanks.

12 Dec 2017I have just signed a contract today with RTA. I did not get a chance to read the small print as the salesman was in a hurry to get to his next con! He told me that the commission on any sale is paid by the purchaser of the business not the seller. After a one off registration fee of £750 plus vat I would not be liable for any other fees. How false a statement this has turned out to be according to their contract. It took him 5 mins to photograph my premises and he came up with a valuation without seeing any accounts or proof of identity. I have cancelled the cheque issued and left a message with their office to call me straight back. I also called the salesman, who was very plausible, to tell him I don't want to go ahead with the sale. His advice was to call the head office in the morning. Watch this space for updates.

8 Mar 2018What you guys need to do is, call them up saying you want to sell your business make them show up, ( waste there time driving to you and ) tell them were to stick it, if people start doing this to them it will start costing them time and money, i will contact them to tell them i want to sell and once the guy gets to my business don't even let him talk just say get out, pure waste of there time, i would recommenced everyone to do it

23 Nov 2018Please can someone advise me what to do. RTA called, said in front of witnesses,no sale, no fee Encouraged me to sign there and then. I have not seen anyone from the firm in four years, Have occasional viewings from people who don't turn up. In spite of lowering the cost of the business by half, no back up from them at all. They have now said they are taking my business off the market and sent me a bill for £1,500 plus VAT. I'm afraid and don't know what to do next.

23 Apr 2020I have had identical experiences to lots of people on this forum. A rushed meeting, then a please sign here just so we have your details correct, etc. I was only interested in getting a valuation for my business. Then a couple of days later the business was listed for sale on their site. This was Feb 19. After lots of very aggressive letters from them, they took me to court for £10k but sent the court details to an address which I don't use. I now have to go back to court to try to set aside the original judgement against me as I wasn't represented at the first hearing. Does anyone know any Solicitors/ lawyers who have dealt with them before and would be interested in defending me in court?
