Be careful with this agency. On checkout we found they were a lot more thorough with the inventory (I think it would be reasonable to expect both check in and check out to be+ completed to the same standard.) They made us pay for a lot of damage that was not ours (picture hooks/floorboards/left items which were actually the landlady's!). We could not negotiate on the deposit as they said if we went to the TDS they would increase the monies we owed. They also state in the contract the property has to be cleaned to the same standard as arrival but they actually insist on a professional clean when leaving (this was not the case on arrival at the property). They were also completely uncontactable whilst trying to negotiate the deposit return despite phone calls and emails from us.
Fees were reasonable but we did have to pay references and check out which can add up.

12 Dec 2017Hello Dully, unfortunately we have no record of you as a tenant. All our inventories and check outs are carried out by the same company to the same standard. We do not use the TDS (we use the DPS), however, I understand that the TDS have a similar system where you can have your case arbitrated should you be unhappy with what is being offered by the landlord/agent (presumably they could only "increase the monies we owed" if they had evidence you had done further damage - if not this would be dismissed at arbitration). I'm sorry I can't help you further but unfortunately we do not have you down on our list of tenants and do not use the TDS. Best Wishes, Portmoor Lettings

16 Dec 2017I am unsure how you would know if we were your tenants or not when you have no details about us from this review? This seems like a standard response of yours that I have seen when other people have left negative reviews. I stand corrected - it was the DPS. However, that is a moot point - the issue was you had clearly different standards on entry and exit in what I can only presume was a tactic to ensure we parted with money on exiting the tenancy. I am happy to discuss any of this further with you should you wish to try and better your services.

18 Dec 2017Again, how can you say you do not have me as a listed tenant when you have no details about me? (name/tenancy) It was evidently not the same standard and I am happy to post an example on here, should you wish. The inventory suggested at the end we had left many items - in fact, these were all the landlords and had been there on entry! The inventory suggested we had damaged the worktops/floors - we did not but because the inventory was not at the same standard on entry and had not reported on this, we had no proof. These are just some examples of the level of detail awarded at the check out inventory that was not there on entry. It is a shame despite this review you are still not able to act in a manner I would expect from a reputable agency.

18 Dec 2017This response is laughable as you repeatedly do not answer any points, and just repeat the same phrases! I think your response clearly shows why people should be wary of you as a letting agency.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
