Just a word of caution and I wouldn't normally do this but I am so upset by the behavior of this company. We are currently looking for a 2/3 bed property in Bournemouth as we are relocating from Reading for work and a number of other reasons. We spoke to Slades and let them know our full circumstances, age of children etc.We received a text about a property meeting our conditions and phoned straight away. Indeed the house was exactly what we are looking for. We arranged a viewing for first Wednesday and then this was changed to today due to the Tenant. I did say though if anything changed, or the property went to let us know as the journey down costs time and money on buses, trains and cabs at a time when we obviously need to save money for moving costs and fees. I was assured the Landlord was fine, would accept us with children and a Guarantor (as partner is self employed). My partner has gone down this morning as arranged, over 100 odd miles. Turned up on time and came to the time of viewing so he knocked. Tenant answers and says all viewings done, go away. I phoned Slades and was put through to Mark who had been due to run the viewing today. He was exceptionally rude, dismissive and really didn't give a stuff that an obvious error had been made by the male I spoke to when they had to rebook- at that point I even had said when they rebooked due to an error at their end it was good I hadn't booked train tickets. He denied it was their error at all. He then said what are your circumsatnces and I said I was sure they should know as they had contacted me saying it matched our requirements, not the other way around. When I told him we have two children and partner is self employed, he said "well the Landlord wont take you then, its too small". I asked for clarity and transparency as to why I had been told completely different and calmly said I would never have booked a viewing if that was the case. His attitude was he had others who want it, who aren't self employed and have no children, and as he didn't book it (even though the lady who booked the original viewing had to speak to him to confirm the details and whether it was worth bothering) it was tough. I am really angry at the attitude of this company. It isn't like we are locals so it's a short car journey, this took time, effort and money for absolutely nothing. Avoid them as they clearly are unprofessional and rude.

We were not provided with the correct documents when we moved in- e.g. any inventory documents to sign and agree on. Handling fee was very expensive and many other letting agents do not charge a fee for this as it is unnecessary.

Awful Awful Awful. I have rented 6 different properties in 3 different cities over the last ten years. This estate agency is not worthy of the name. The fees are way to expensive (£ 400 plus £90 for checkout !!!! £100 references check) and the services offered are very poor. The agent doesn't answer the questions, he says "of course it's not going to happen" or "It never happen before". I have to call him to know how ... Read Full Review
Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
